A black volcanic glass formed from cooling lava. Found mainly in Armenia, the United States, Japan, Iceland, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Italy, New Zealand, Turkey and Peru. Obsidian has a rich history of use for making weapons and cutting tools, and jewellery. A sacred stone to the Aztecs who used it as a mirror to read the future and one of the four sacred stones of the Navajo tribe. Black Obsidian is a strongly protective stone, powerful aura cleanser and known to be prophetic (often used for scrying).
This stone creates a protective shield against negativity and can act as a mirror to your soul, revealing both your light and dark sides to understand who you are at your core.
